Wine and Sunflower Field

Saturday morning, my amazing boyfriend took me out to Greenport, Long Island in search of sunflowers. While we were out there, we figured we can also visit some wineries and get some delicious wine in our tummies. =].

Our first stop was Kontokosta which offered a picturesque view of the Long Island Sound. The view [below] reminded us of the drive on hwy one, from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Next up, Sparkling Pointe. We made it here just before they had to start setting up for a wedding. We sat indoors enjoying the bubblies.

Last stop was Pindar Winery. I did some research prior to making the journey out that Pindar Winery has a field of sunflower outside. Unfortunately, the season has passed and there was no longer a sunflower field outside. If anyone is interested, field is there from July to August every year. No matter, through disappointed, we drank our sorrows with a few glasses of wine. Yummy!

The trip was saved on our way home when my boyfriend spotted a local farm [Bay View Farm Market] that still had their sunflower field! I jumped out of the car in such joy! All smiles!
